Below are her remarks:\nDefending the American people is the chief responsibility of our government, and its a constitutional obligation that the House and the Senate take seriously.\nThis week Congress put the National Defense Authorization Act on the Presidents Desk. Its an important example of how Congress should work together to get the job done for the American people.\nThis is bipartisan. We do it every year to fund our military.\nFor 53 years, Congresses passed, Presidents signed this legislation.\nLater today, President Obama will veto.\nMy district is home to Fairchild Air Force base, and I know firsthand the importance of our defense funding.\nThe National Defense Authorization Act funds vital military operations and equipment. Military families rely on it for salaries, medical care, and transitional resources.\nOur nation was built on service before self.
