Mark Messmer (R-IN) celebrated the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2026, the legislation responsible for funding the Department of War.\n\n\u201cThe FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act codifies the key policy priorities our Republican majority in the House of Representatives has been fighting for, and with Crane Naval Surface Warfare Base in Indiana\u2019s 8th District, I am proud to represent a community that strongly supports the President\u2019s \u2018Peace Through Strength\u2019 agenda,\u201d said Rep. Messmer. \u201cThanks to President Trump\u2019s leadership, long gone are the days of the Biden-Harris Administration\u2019s appeasement that have emboldened our enemies and weakened our nation\u2019s standing in the world.\u201d\n\nThe FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act:\n\nCodifies President Trump\u2019s efforts to end left-wing ideology, wokeism, and DEI in the military, and restores focus on lethality, meritocracy, and accountability.\n\nFully funds and provides additional authorities to the Department of War to support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) border security efforts.\n\nFundamentally reforms the Department of War acquisition process, codifying President Trump\u2019s Executive Order and speeding the delivery of innovative new technologies to the warfighter.\n\nCarries out President Trump\u2019s efforts to improve the quality of life for our servicemembers with a 3.8% pay raise and improved benefits for military families.\n\nAuthorizes full funding for President Trump\u2019s top priorities, including the Golden Dome, F-47 fighter aircraft, submarines, warships, and autonomous systems.\n\nAuthorizes funds and creates new authorities to meet President Trump\u2019s goal of revitalizing the defense industrial base, growing defense manufacturing jobs in America, and onshoring our defense supply chains.\n\nIncludes new authorities to support President Trump\u2019s effort to require our allies to pay more for their own defense.\n\nProvides over $20 billion in savings, including $15 billion from Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)-initiated reforms assumed in President Trump\u2019s budget request.\n\nExtends authorities President Trump uses to eliminate terrorists that threaten Americans.\n\nCodifies President Trump\u2019s Executive Order to promote energy independence and develop advanced nuclear power technologies\n\nSecures vital funding for hypersonic missile, aircraft, and interceptor technologies that will keep Americans safe.\n\nEstablishes programs to support members of the National Guard during their service.\n\nStrengthens the Department of War\u2019s ability to swiftly expand its supply chains and address critical national security shortfalls in the Defense Industrial Base.\n\nThe NDAA legislation is critical to the defense industry in IN-08 and across the United States.\n\nTo learn more about how Rep.
