This legislation would specify the types of flags that may be flown on federal property.\n\n\u201cThe American flag is more than just a flag; it is a symbol of freedom and democracy. The stars and stripes stand as a reminder to never forget the men and women who gave their lives defending the values we hold dear,\u201d said Miller-Meeks. \u201cFor 24 years, I served under the American flag as an enlisted servicemember and an officer, as active duty and a reservist, and retired from the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Every time I face the flag with my hand over my heart, I remember all of my fellow servicemembers who have fought to protect our way of life and keep the American Dream alive.
