Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02) spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives to recognize Muscatine High School for its academic success.\n\nImage\n\nTo watch Miller-Meeks\u2019 speech, click HERE, and read her remarks as prepared for delivery below:\n\nMr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize a high school in my district that was recently recognized for its commitment to student success.\n\nFor over 15 years, Iowa has partnered with the ACT\u2019s College Application Campaign to increase the number of first-generation college students and students from low-income households in applying for and pursuing higher education. I am proud to announce, in 2020, 176 Iowa schools participated in the College Application Campaign, and altogether, 504 students completed 1,578 college applications!\n\nOf the 176 Iowa schools that participated, Muscatine High School in my district was awarded the 2020 School of Excellence for Iowa from ACT.
