The bipartisan resolution has previously been introduced by Moolenaar.\n\n\"Patriot Week honors the founding principles of our nation, our Constitution, and the victims of the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks,\" said Moolenaar. \"I am proud to introduce legislation establishing Patriot Week, to encourage Americans to learn about our history, celebrate our freedoms, and revere those who were lost to terrorism.\"\n\n\u201cCongressman James and I were in our second year at West Point on 9/11. We swore to never forget the heroes we lost that day, and now, alongside Congressman Moolenaar, we\u2019re putting those words into action,\u201d said Congressman Ryan. \u201cIn the weeks and months that followed 9/11, Americans demonstrated remarkable unity, compassion, and a reclaimed patriotism that illuminated one of our darkest hours and embodied the best of humanity.
