Congratulations to NextCorps on this announcement, and I cannot wait to see all the amazing results from this exciting collaboration!\u201d\n\n\u201cNextCorps is excited to combine the experience we\u2019ve gain from years of working with small and mid-sized manufacturers, as well as from our multiple clean energy programs, to create new growth opportunities here in the region,\u201d said Jim Senall, NextCorps President. \u201cThis award will help us to further develop a regional strategy and partnerships around clean energy manufacturing, which will be used to secure additional rounds of funding for project implementation.\u201d\n\nThe NextCorps Rochester Area Clean Energy Manufacturing Hub was named a Phase One winner of the DOE\u2019s inaugural Manufacture of Advanced Key Energy Infrastructure Technologies (MAKE IT) Prize Strategies Track.\n\nThe MAKE IT Prize is a multiphase, two-track competition aimed at catalyzing domestic manufacturing of critical components for the clean energy infrastructure. Following the announcement of this award in the \u201cStrategies Track,\u201d the 13 teams\u2014including NextCorps\u2014will go on to submit a plan to establish a manufacturing facility for their identified clean energy technology. Additional funding of $100,000 will be available in the Phase 2, \u201cCreate\u201d phase of the competition, followed by the opportunity to win $250,000 in the Phase 3, \u201cActivate\u201d portion, which will lead to a letter of commitment from at least one entity ready to establish a facility in the region.\n\nThe MAKE IT Prize was developed by the DOE Office of Technology Transitions (OTT), the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), and the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
