Morelle is a co-sponsor of the legislation which seeks to enhance transparency and accountability and protect American elections from foreign interference.\n\n\"Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy and we must ensure they are protected from any interference, be it foreign or domestic,\" said Congressman Joe Morelle. \"In the words of my dear friend, the late Rep. That is why my colleagues and I have repeatedly taken action to protect our democratic institutions, and we'll continue fighting to ensure our democracy remains strong for generations to come.\"\n\nThe Protecting Our Democracy Act is takes important steps to restore the checks-and-balances, accountability, and transparency our Founding Fathers envisioned to protect against abuse of power.
