Mrvan applauded the United States International Trade Commission\u2019s (ITC) recent affirmative rulings in support of the domestic steel industry following his testimonies during their September hearings.\n\nSpecific to hot-rolled steel products, which are produced at Cleveland-Cliffs and U.S. Steel facilities in Northwest Indiana, on September 15, 2022, Congressman Mrvan testified that \u201cthe steel products we are discussing today, hot-rolled steel, are made in the First Congressional District, at the U.S. Steel Gary Works and Cleveland Cliffs Indiana Harbor facilities,\u201d and that \u201cwhen foreign competitors choose to cheat and circumvent our trade laws, they threaten the existence of the American steel industry and good-paying jobs that allow our workers to support their families.\u201d Additional information on the ITC\u2019s final ruling on this case is available here.\n\nWith regard to oil country tubular goods (OCTG) products, on September 22, 2022, Congressman Mrvan testified during the ITC hearing and stated that \u201cNorthwest Indiana is home to an incredible steel and manufacturing base, and the dedicated workforce and members of the United Steelworkers produce the material and hot-rolled steel that is used to make OCTG products.
