Rep. Newhouse was joined by his guest, Rey Pascua, the President of Filipino-American Community of the Yakima Valley. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian honor that Congress can bestow. Rep. Newhouse was a cosponsor of companion legislation passed in the House, H.R.2737, Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2015. For video of the ceremony, click here.\nRep.
