Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $5,030,719 to the Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA) through its Health Center Cluster program. This grant was funded from FY21 appropriations, which Republicans approved in December of 2020.\n\n\"Organizations like the Columbia Basin Health Association are critical to ensuring our rural communities receive the same standard of healthcare as our urban counterparts,\" said Rep. Newhouse. \"I am pleased HHS has awarded this much-needed funding to the CBHA, and I look forward to continuing to partner with these organizations to deliver the affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare the people of Central Washington deserve.\"\n\nBackground:\n\nThrough the Health Resources & Services Administration, HHS awards grants to organizations that meet standards of federally qualified health centers.
