The legislation authorizes funding for national defense and national security programs of the Department of Energy and now heads to President Trump for signature into law.\n\u201cIt is our solemn responsibility in Congress to provide for the national defense, and I was proud to support this legislation to invest in our military,\u201d said Rep. Newhouse. \u201cThis legislation authorizes the largest increase in pay for our troops in eight years and equips the Armed Forces to do its job on our behalf. NDAA authorizes vital investment for Hanford cleanup to fulfill the moral and legal obligation of the federal government to fulfill its promise to our community.
