We prioritized provisions that protect Americans\u2019 financial privacy and support American businesses by implementing new \u2018Buy American\u2019 policies for resources purchased by the federal government,\" said Rep. Newhouse.\n\nNewhouse continues, \"With the recent announcement of the Secretary of Agriculture being added to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), I am glad to see this legislation fully fund CFIUS and their newest mission to keep the CCP out of the market for American farmland.\"\n\nThe Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act provides a total discretionary allocation of $23.341 billion, which is approximately $410 million below the Fiscal Year 2025 allocation and a 7.9 percent reduction from the Fiscal Year 2025 enacted discretionary appropriation.\n\nThe bill restores fiscal discipline and common sense to the federal government.
