Its purpose is to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the federal government and all its agencies. Among its five (5) subcommittees, the Environment Subcommittee has jurisdiction over federal activity in environmental protection, energy policy, public lands, public health, endangered species, and air & water quality.\n\nAs the new ranking member of the Environment Subcommittee, Rep.
