This bill brings commonsense reforms that reduce bureaucracy and help rural Iowans stay in the homes they\u2019ve worked hard to build.\u201d\n\nIntroduced with Representative Emanuel Cleaver (MO-05), the Rural Housing Service Reform Act improves accountability, updates outdated systems, and streamlines USDA programs to better serve low-income families, seniors, and workers in small towns and farming communities. It also increases transparency and helps preserve the nation\u2019s supply of affordable rural housing.\n\nThese provisions were included in the Housing for the 21st Century Act, a broader bipartisan housing package aimed at increasing housing supply, removing regulatory barriers, and modernizing federal housing programs to better reflect the needs of rural, suburban, and urban America.
