This legislation bars Biden\u2019s Department of Energy from establishing costly energy conservation standards on clothes washers. This bill is one of his many efforts to dismantle the Biden regime\u2019s excessive and unconstitutional regulations on consumer appliances.\n\n\u201cI have spent much of my time in Congress fighting back the federal government\u2019s vast overreach into the lives of hardworking Americans. In a slew of woke, \u201cenvironmental\u201d nonsense rulemaking attempts by the Biden Administration, the Secretary of Energy issued new standards for clothing washers and dryers in March,\u201d said Congressman Ogles. \u201cIn response, I introduced the Liberty in Laundry Act, which will prohibit the Secretary of Energy from imposing \u201cenergy conservation standards\u201d for clothes washers that are not economically feasible and economically justified.
