This bill was yet another brief extension and lacked true spending offsets, relying on budget gimmicks to buy a few more months of time. \r\nInstead, we need a long-term, fiscally-responsible bill that funds our highway system and allows for the continuation of important infrastructure projects within our states and local communities. I cannot support legislation like this that not only fails to meet our conservative principles, but is a complete step backwards.\r\nMembers of the committee claim they need more time to hammer out a deal. Well lets cancel the August recess, roll up our sleeves, and get to work. This is vital to our country and South Mississippi, and it needs to be taken seriously.\r\n    \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n    \r\n      f \r\n      t \r\n      #\r\n      e", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://palazzo.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=398671"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.4604050666093826, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
