Now  knowing that he doesn't have the votes in the Senate to fund his immoral, ineffective and expensive wall  President Trump is throwing a tantrum, threatening a very long shutdown.\nOver and over, President Trump has declared that he'd be proud to shut down the government, even saying I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down if he cannot force American taxpayers to spend billions of dollars on an immoral, ineffective and expensive wall.\nCongresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer held a press conference this week after President Trump announced that he would not keep government open if it did not include funding for a border wall.\nDemocrats have offered three options to keep government open  but President Trump and House Republicans are deciding to drive our nation into a pointless, destructive shutdown over the holidays. If they steer our nation into a Trump Shutdown, in early January, the new House Democratic Majority will swiftly pass the appropriation bills with a CR for Homeland Security to re-open government.\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tMy office was able to advocate for an emergency disability benefit check for an unhoused constituent.
