The CAC was created to highlight the importance of STEM and computer-based skills and their critical role in economic growth and innovation.Ian’s app, “Mathematical Journey," is a fun, educational game for grade school kids to improve and practice basic math skills. Here's a demonstration of Ian’s app: https://youtu.be/3LkzunhqH-0. Ian’s app will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building, on House.gov and on the Congressional App Challenge website (http://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/.) Eight submissions were part of this year’s challenge - open to all high school students who reside in the 4th District. Apps were scored by three independent judges: John McElligott, Chief Executive Officer of York Exponential; Dominic Sinibaldi, Chief Operating Officer at York Exponential; and Eric Mueller, co-founder of Qrypdo. Congressman Perry sincerely appreciates the time and talents dedicated by these individuals to the App Challenge. By some estimates, the United States may need more than a million programmers by 2020; to maintain American competitiveness, we must encourage our youth to pursue and acquire these valuable skills. The Internet Education Foundation serves as the operational sponsor of the CAC.
