But after President Trump doubled-down to defend and legitimize these groups\u2014emboldening them and inspiring more violence\u2014that\u2019s where we are. It\u2019s sickening,\u201d said Pingree. \u00a0\u201cMy office\u2019s phone is ringing off the hook today with constituents who are incensed with his statements and others who fear for their families\u2019 safety because of them. It\u2019s important to show them that\u2014unlike the President\u2014Congress believes there\u2019s no place for hate groups in the White House.\u00a0It\u2019s long past time for bigoted, white supremacist sympathizers like Steve Bannon, Sebastian Gorka, and Stephen Miller to go.\u201d\nIntroduced by Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), the resolution:\u00a0\n Condemns the white supremacist violence that occurred in Charlottesville\u00a0\n\tDenounces the increase in organizing by hate groups like the KKK and neo-Nazis\n\tOffers condolences to the families of Heather Heyer, who was killed in an act of white supremacist terrorism, and of the two State Troopers who lost their lives in the line of duty, Lt. H. Jay Cullen and Trooper-Pilot, Berke M.M.
