The rejection of Trumpcare in the Senate is a testament to their dedication and courage. I\u2019m grateful to both of Maine\u2019s Senators for their solidarity in rejecting this effort which would have harmed individuals and communities across our state.  \n\t\u00a0  \n\tI won\u2019t stop fighting to preserve the Affordable Care Act\u2019s fundamental consumer protections. But I also continue to recognize that the law can and should be improved. We must push toward a more accessible and affordable health care system.  \n\t\u00a0  \n\tWe won\u2019t solve this until Congress can sit down and have a constructive, bipartisan conversation about a path forward. There are substantive and serious disagreements. I\u2019m a longtime advocate for a single-payer system\u2014others would prefer to deregulate the system entirely.
