Just as he served our country in countless combat missions in Afghanistan, Rob is now serving Maine veterans as a Congressional Staffer.\n\t\u00a0\n\tLast week Rob represented our office at the retirement ceremony of an employee at Togus VA in Maine. \u00a0The retiree's 92-year-old father--a World War Two veteran\u2014was there to participate in the ceremony.\n\t\u00a0\n\tBut moments after it ended, he collapsed from a heart attack.\nRob leapt into action and put his Marine Corps training to work. \u00a0And with the help of a few other bystanders, began administering CPR\u2014which they continued until medical professionals arrived.\n\t\u00a0\n\tThanks to Rob\u2014and the VA employees who jump in to help\u2014a WWII vet is alive and well and walking around today.\n\t\u00a0\n\tI couldn't be more proud of the work that Rob does in our office every day\u2014and I am especially proud of his quick response to save the life of a fellow veteran last week.\n\t\u00a0\n\tI yield back.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://pingree.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/video-recognizing-veteran-staffer-rob-mccann-0"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.6009279750287533, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
