Plaskett, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement announcing a $1.4 million grant from U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the V.I. Department of Public Works (DPW) on St. John:\n\n\u201cI am happy to announce that FEMA has awarded a grant totaling $1,458,902.75. This much needed funding will go toward permanent repairs to roadways and other infrastructures under the V.I. Department of Public Works (DPW) jurisdiction on St. John that happened as a direct result of Hurricane Maria.\u201d\n\n\u201cWe must be prepared and continue to build our resiliency against disaster.
