Plaskett released the following statement with regard to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) awarding the Virgin Islands Department of Health with $1,726,970:\n\n\u201cI want to thank U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the CDC for granting $1.7 million to our local VI Department of Health for the purpose of helping deploy immunizations and vaccines for our children. As we continue to battle the effects of the pandemic on our community, more than ever we need to ensure that our children are safe.
