Terrorists in Gaza, territory controlled by the Hamas terrorist group, have launched more than a dozen rockets into southern Israel over the last two weeks, the most intensive attacks since a seven-week-long Gaza war in 2014.\r\nISIS claimed responsibility for an attack near a training facility of Afghanistans main intelligence agency in the capital, Kabul, on Monday as gunmen exchanged fire with security forces. Details of the attack remained unclear after a group of armed men seized a building under construction in a heavily populated area of the city.\r\nA prominent Chechen commander in Syria, Salahuddin Shishani, has been killed in the Hama countryside of northwestern Syria on Sunday. Salahuddin was the emir of a small jihadist outfit comprised of North Caucasians and native Syrians, Jaysh Usrah. The exact nature of his purported death has yet to be confirmed; however, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that he was killed by a Russian airstrike.\r\nFour people were killed when a United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) aid convoy was ambushed in northeast Nigeria, a WFP spokeswoman said on Sunday, in the latest attack in the region as the conflict with Boko Haram nears its ninth year. Attacks on aid workers are relatively rare in the conflict with the Islamist terrorists, compared with assaults on the military and civilians in Nigerias northeast.\r\nTwo suicide bombers stormed a packed Christian church in southwestern Pakistan on Sunday, killing at least nine people and wounding up to 56, officials said, in the latest attack claimed by ISIS in the country. Police guards stationed at the church entrance and on its roof killed one of the bombers but the second attacker detonated his explosives-filled vest outside its prayer hall just after Sunday services began in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province.\r\nU.S. intelligence agencies provided advanced warning to Russia about a major terrorist plot in St. Petersburg, allowing Moscow to thwart an attack that could have killed large numbers of people, the White House said on Sunday. The tip-off resulted in the detention of seven alleged supporters of ISIS in St. Petersburg last week. Russias Federal Security Service said on Friday that ISIS had planned attacks in public places on Dec. 16 and weapons and explosives were found when the suspects were searched.\r\nEuropean Union states and legislators agreed on Friday on stricter rules to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing on exchange platforms for bitcoin and other virtual currencies, the EU said in a statement.
