North Carolinians should take all necessary precautions and monitor emergency alerts diligently and frequently. Governor Cooper has declared a State of Emergency and called on residents to take steps now to prepare for the impact of the storm.\n\tAlthough it is unclear how severely the hurricane will impact the 4th district, residents should be prepared for strong tropical storm-level winds and heavy rainfall that could result in flooding, road closures, and widespread power outages.\n\tI encourage all 4thdistrict residents to stay tuned to local forecasts and follow instructions from local emergency officials. It is important that you develop an emergency plan for yourself and your family members, including your pets.
