(August 23, 2021) — Today, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Rep. Jamie Raskin, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, sent a letter to Douglas Logan, Chief Executive Officer of Cyber Ninjas, demanding that he end his obstruction of the Committee’s work and fully comply with the Committee’s requests for documents related to the company’s “audit” of 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County, Arizona.

“Cyber Ninjas failed to produce key documents responsive to the Committee’s requests, including the company’s communications with former President Trump, his allies and advisors, and the partisan dark money groups that financed this audit,” the Chairs wrote. “The Committee needs those and other documents we requested in order to determine whether any individuals or entities have exerted inappropriate influence over the audit and to determine the extent to which partisanship and conspiracy theories compromised the credibility of this audit, which are key issues in the Committee’s assessment of the need for various federal legislative reforms to protect the constitutionally guaranteed right to vote.”

On July 14, 2021, the Chairs sent a letter to Cyber Ninjas requesting documents and communications as part of the Committee’s investigation into the firm’s highly unusual election audit in Maricopa County.

Although the documents were originally due on July 28, 2021, the Committee accommodated Cyber Ninjas’ request for an extension until August 9, 2021. Rather than produce the requested documents, Cyber Ninjas provided 336 pages of already publicly available material and lodged several unjustified objections to the Committee’s requests.

Today’s letter makes clear that these documents must be produced, and that the Committee’s investigation is being conducted pursuant to Congress’s constitutional authority to regulate federal elections and protect Americans’ right to vote.

“The documents and communications requested in our July 14, 2021, letter are vital to the Committee’s assessment of the need for federal legislative reforms to ensure the right to vote is protected before, during, and after an election, and that third parties do not interfere with this right,” the Chairs stated. “As a further discretionary accommodation to Cyber Ninjas, the Committee will grant one additional extension, until August 27, 2021, to produce responsive documents voluntarily. If your company, which purports to be acting in a lawful manner pursuing the public interest, continues to obstruct the Committee’s investigation, the Committee will be forced to consider other steps to obtain compliance.”

Click to read today’s letter.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T20:11:17Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://raskin.house.gov/2021/8/chairs-maloney-and-raskin-demand-cyber-ninjas-ceo-comply-with-committee-requests-for-audit-documents/0a69b7c5-00d9-4437-98be-0364f4cf5000
