Tom Reed spearheaded the passage of the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act of 2019and the HOSPICE Act, two critical pieces of healthcarelegislation, through the House of Representatives.\r\nThe ALS Disability Insurance Access Act wouldwaive the five-month Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) waiting period for individuals with ALS, while the HOSPICE Act would increase transparency and oversight into hospice providers to prevent bad actors from providing poor quality care.\r\nBoth bills passed unanimously withoutspoken support from Members on both sides of the aisle.\r\n\"We're proud to have championed two bills that will directly benefit so many Americans by improvingfair access to federal resourcesand increasingthe quality ofhospice care. At a time when many define Washington based on its disagreements and gridlock, we're working to demonstratethat Congress is capable of putting aside politics to getthings done for the American people,\"said Rep.
