These awards to the National Health Service Corps, Nurse Corps and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery programs will diversify our healthcare workforce, address workforce shortages, and expand clinical services available to people living in underserved communities.\n\n\u201cHealth equity has been at the very core of my work since coming to Congress in 2013. I have long advocated for the benefits of diversifying our healthcare workforce, especially when it comes to improving outcomes for people of color and in the Black maternal mortality crisis.\n\n\u201cThis funding will come from the Democrats\u2019 American Rescue Plan and strengthen our nation\u2019s healthcare system for years to come.
