Ross", "R000305", "ross.house.gov", "ross", "https://ross.house.gov/press-releases", "scraper", "Washington, D.C. \u2014 Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement on the House Republican leadership refusing to allow consideration of her bipartisan Camp Lejeune amendment in this year\u2019s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).\n\nIn this week\u2019s House Rules Committee meeting, Republican leadership did not make in order her bipartisan amendment with Representatives Greg Murphy (NC-03), Richard Hudson (NC-09), and Don Davis (NC-01) to make technical changes to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, which would ensure veterans\u2019 claims are given fair and reasonable judicial review. Despite the bipartisan agreement on this amendment, Republicans have refused to allow it to move to the House Floor for a vote as part of the NDAA.\n\n\u201cSpeaker Johnson has refused bipartisanship at every juncture this Congress,\u201d said Congresswoman Ross. \u201cCamp Lejeune veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country and should not have to wait a second longer to access the justice they deserve. It\u2019s shameful that the Republican leadership blocked an opportunity for bipartisan compromise to support the brave men and women who have served in uniform.
