While supporting Americans impacted by recent hurricanes and our nation\u2019s farmers is a worthy cause, we must pursue those ends in a fiscally responsible way or we risk losing our country altogether.\n\nMy efforts this week along with House 'fiscal hawks' resulted in two important things: 1) avoiding $5 trillion being added to our existing $36 trillion national debt with zero spending cuts or structural reforms; and 2) delivering for President Trump a path to stop Chuck Schumer from abusing the debt ceiling to roil financial markets by delivering a framework for substantial and necessary spending cuts.\n\nI look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure we do just that in the 119th Congress.\n\nOnward.\"\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:07:19Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://roy.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-roy-issues-statement-hr-10545"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.0671000927686691, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
