But more federal support is needed to keep care available and affordable. That's why the House passed the Child Care is Essential Act. I cosponsored the legislation, which sets up a $50 billion Child Care Stabilization Fund within the CCDBG program. Grants from the Stabilization Fund would help child care centers cover operating expenses, keep staff on the job, and provide tuition and copayment relief for working families.
