These four students from Northshore\u00a0High School created \"Cajun Cookout\", an app that teaches budget management tools in the form of a game.\u00a0\n \n\u201cI congratulate Northshore High School students Anna Yue, Charles Blackwell, Claire Picou, and Cody Armand for winning the 2017 Congressional App Challenge for the First Congressional District. Their hard work, creativity, and technological skills are to be commended. As a former software engineer, I am excited to see schools and students in southeast Louisiana focusing on technology and being creative about how to apply technology in our everyday lives. These four high school students took their\u00a0passion in coding and appreciation for Cajun cuisine, and combined it with their idea about budget management to make a working application.
