You know, we had a tight voter margin in the House, but we actually put up a strong number coming out of the House, and then the Senate delivered. They actually passed a bill, too, and as we\u2019re in conference committee, I was talking to some of the conferees over the weekend on some of the issues they\u2019re trying to resolve, and frankly, I think you\u2019re going to see this bill continue to get better.\n\t\t\u00a0\n\t\t\u201cIt\u2019s already a big one for middle-class families. Every rate is going to be lowered from the top rate on down. All of the rates will be lowered, and we are going to make our country competitive again. I\u2019m tired of seeing jobs move overseas because we've got the highest corporate rate in the world. We bring that down not just to the average, but below average so that we can actually bring jobs back to America.\n\t\t\u00a0\n\t\t\u201cPresident Trump has been with us every step of the way in saying we need tax relief for middle-class families, and we are going to do that. We\u2019re going to deliver\u2014President Trump\u2019s going to deliver on yet another promise, and he\u2019s already delivered on many.\"\n \nOn putting money back into the pockets of hardworking families\u2026\n \n\u201cI think it was very telling that when we had a bill on the House Floor\u2014and the Senate Floor\u2014to lower every tax rate and to push real tax relief for middle-class families. I mean, on average, families are going to get about $1,200 back in their pocket. When the average savings [account] for families is $400, that\u2019s a lot of money.\n\t\t\u00a0\n\t\t\u201cThe fact that every Democrat voted \u2018no\u2019 shows the country\u2014Democrats across the country are not that radically liberal\u2014but in the House and Senate, it has become so polarized that they don\u2019t want to give any tax relief to anyone. They want to raise taxes. We\u2019re going to lower taxes. It\u2019s going to get this economy moving again.\n\t\t\u00a0\n\t\t\u2026\n\t\t\u00a0\n\t\t\u201cYou know, you talked about the family tax credit; we are doubling the standard deduction so most families\u2014over 90% of families, by the way\u2014under this bill, are going to be able to do taxes on a postcard. That\u2019s how simplified this complex code is going to become.
