Peters said. “WRDA helps ensure our region is resilient and responsive to extreme weather events caused by climate change. Supporting the infrastructure that makes San Diego strong and resilient is one of my most important roles in Congress, and I will continue to make sure our waterways can safely serve our communities and businesses for years to come."

WRDA authorizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to undertake major construction projects to strengthen the nation’s water and wastewater infrastructure. It also extends and modifies USACE’s authority over current projects and programs to streamline project planning. Eligible funds must then be appropriated by Congress through separate legislation.

###", 1, "2026-09-17T09:52:05Z", "2026-09-17T09:53:00Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://scottpeters.house.gov/press-releases/peters-helps-pass-water-resources-development-act-and-funding-for-san-diego-projects
