Terri Sewell (AL-07) hosted the 10th Annual Congressional Job Fair at the Bessemer Civic Center. This year\u2019s event featured over 50 employers from across 10 industry sectors. Returning to an in-person setting after two years, the Job Fair welcomed almost 500 job seekers. The Job Fair serves as an opportunity to foster economic growth across the 7th Congressional District, reflecting Rep. Sewell\u2019s dedication to promoting job opportunities by connecting employers directly with job seekers. It is Rep. Sewell\u2019s largest constituent outreach event of the year. Rep. Sewell is pleased to announce that next year's job fair will be held in her hometown of Selma, Alabama.\n\n\u201cLike me, many Americans who grew up surrounded by poverty saw the lasting effects of historic disinvestment in their communities long before the COVID-19 pandemic brought these issues into sharp clarity,\u201d said Rep. Sewell. \u201cSince coming to Congress, I have made it my mission to address those very factors, making a commitment to the people of my District to bring economic opportunities directly to them.
