Sewell (AL-07) released the following statement following an announcement by Alabama Power to convert to natural gas at its steam plant in Greene County: \n\n\t\"While I respect the recent business decision made by Alabama Power to convert to natural gas at its facility in Greene County, I am disappointed that such a decision will negatively impact the employment opportunities in a county that can least absorb its effect. I strongly believe in government's role in environmental policy; however I also believe that we must have a balanced approach to federal regulation such that the costs are weighed with the effects on job growth and economic impact.
