Youth Advisory Council students will learn more about Congress and public service, issues in the community, and develop professional and leadership skills, while helping inform federal policy with their insight. Congresswoman Brown\u2019s office invited area students to apply earlier this year, and the Council began meeting monthly in November.\n\nThe Youth Advisory Council will meet regularly through the end of the school year and have the opportunity to hear from local leaders. The December session conducted last weekend welcomed Cuyahoga County Judge, the Honorable Tonya R. Jones, who discussed conflict resolution with the Council. A similar program was first initiated in the district by Congresswoman Brown\u2019s predecessor, now HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge.\n\n\u201cI am excited to help local students learn more about public service and government, while also hearing directly from them about their priorities and concerns. I was honored to meet with our Youth Advisory Council earlier this month and excited to see so many dedicated and talented young people from across the district stepping up.
