The oath of office was administered by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the House Chamber of the U.S. Capitol. Congresswoman Brown was joined in the Capitol by her family and friends, including her mother, Rikki; her father, Tony; her siblings, Nicole and Ray; and her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.\n\n\u201cI am humbled and honored to have the privilege of serving the people of Ohio\u2019s Eleventh Congressional District in the House of Representatives,\u201d said Rep. Brown. \u201cThroughout my career in public service, I have always put people first, working to support low-income families, ensure justice and equity for all, and strengthen the community that I love and call home. In 2014, she was elected to represent the 9th district on the Cuyahoga County Council, one of the most diverse in the County, with constituents in the City of Cleveland, as well as inner- and outer-ring suburbs.
