Brown (OH-11) commended the successful Senate passage of the PACT Act. The PACT Act addresses the full spectrum of issues affecting toxic-exposed veterans\u2019 access to VA benefits and care while also reforming VA\u2019s presumptive decision-making process. Rep. Brown issued the following statement:\n\n\u201cAfter fighting to protect our democracy, our veterans should not come home to another battle with our healthcare system,\u201d said Rep. Brown. \u201cVeterans often experience increased health hazards during their time of service, and some injuries and illnesses are slow to manifest, such as asthma, cancer, and others.\n\n\u201cThe PACT Act is the most significant expansion of benefits and services for toxic exposed veterans in more than 30 years. While we will never be able to repay our debt to those who wear the uniform by signing this bill into law, Congress has taken a decisive step in ensuring that we care for the servicemen, women, and their families.\"\n\nThe PACT Act will bring these changes:\n\nExpands and extends eligibility for VA health care for Veterans with toxic exposures and Veterans of the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras\n\nAdds more than 20 new presumptive conditions for burn pits and other toxic exposures\n\nAdds more presumptive-exposure locations for Agent Orange and radiation\n\nRequires VA to provide a toxic exposure screening to every Veteran enrolled in VA health care\n\nHelps us improve research, staff education, and treatment related to toxic exposures", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T02:59:24Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://shontelbrown.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-brown-applauds-senate-passage-pact-act"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.267869956791401, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
