The task force will unite federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to combat these transnational criminal organizations and protect Americans from financial fraud. The bill specifically addresses the Chinese government\u2019s heavy involvement in enabling these criminal networks.\n\n\u201cThe Committee took historic steps this week to protect millions of Americans,\u201d said Shreve. \u201cHoosiers in particular have felt the impact of foreign criminal organizations draining their pockets through fraudulent schemes. I created an interagency task force to combat these sophisticated operations \u2014 and this legislation is now headed to the House Floor. We also advanced reforms to fix a broken State Department, promote fiscal responsibility, and put America First.\u201d\n\nThe State Department Reauthorization Bill marks the first comprehensive update since 2002 and restores accountability and structure to the Department. Provisions advanced by Rep. Shreve include:\n\nPreventing U.S. taxpayer dollars from supporting pro-Hamas UN organizations\n\nEnsuring U.S. contributions to the United Nations are used only for their intended purpose\n\nStrengthening oversight of funds to advance an America First agenda\n\nCombating Mexican cartels\n\nCreating a U.S. Special Envoy for Burma\n\nShreve has made protecting Americans from foreign scams a top priority in Congress.
