Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted in favor of H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The House of Representatives passed the bill, which would require the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release its files on Jeffrey Epstein, with overwhelming, nearly unanimous support.\n\n\u201cTransparency is essential for a trustworthy and accountable government. Chairman Comer and the House Oversight Committee have been committed to delivering transparency since day one\u2014having released over 65,000 pages of documents to date related to the Jeffrey Epstein case,\u201dsaid Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11).\n\n\u201cMy vote today is in the name of justice for the victims, transparency for the American people, and accountability for those involved in these heinous crimes against innocent women,\u201d continued Smucker. \u201cDemocrats had access to the same documents under the Biden administration but did not release them. This was never about politics for me or my fellow Republicans.\n\n\u201cI hope as a nation we can move forward.
