Victoria Spartz (R-IN) announced the names of six outstanding nominees from Indiana\u2019s Fifth Congressional District who were appointed and have accepted to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, and West Point:\n\nU.S. Air Force Academy\n\nEllison Nou \u2013 Carmel, Hamilton County\n\nSamuel Schmidt \u2013 Westfield, Hamilton County\n\nScott Winger \u2013 Hartford City, Blackford County\n\nU.S. Naval Academy\n\nJohn Sheddy \u2013 Fishers, Hamilton County\n\nGrace Sullivan \u2013 Carmel, Hamilton County\n\nWest Point\n\nReid Wesley \u2013 Zionsville, Boone County\n\n\u201cIt\u2019s critical that our military remains the best trained, best equipped, and most importantly, the best lead military force in the world,\u201d said Rep. Spartz. \u201cI know these outstanding nominees will represent Indiana, and our nation well.\u201d\n\nEvery applicant was interviewed and then rigorously evaluated by the nomination committee on a variety of factors including academic and athletic achievements, extra-curricular activities, character, and motivation.\n\nRep.
