The funding is a $7 million increase over the $400 million announced earlier this year.\n\nThis funding will support Amkor\u2019s investment of approximately $2 billion and 2,000 jobs in a greenfield project in Peoria, Arizona, which will provide full end-to-end advanced packaging for the world\u2019s most advanced semiconductors for applications in high-performance computing, AI, communications, and automotive end markets.\n\nIt has been standard for American semiconductor companies to ship their product overseas for packaging\u2014now they will be able to package and test their essential chips domestically, enabling the full cycle of chip manufacturing to occur within the United States.\n\n\u201cArizona companies continue to dominate America\u2019s semiconductor industry.
