We have to fight back because this is an attack on the middle class\u2026the middle class is going to pay more for gas at the pump.\"\n\nWhen Stauber was asked by a member of the press as to what American families can expect in the winter months, Stauber stated, \"Look at the price of natural gas. Many of our homes are heated by natural gas\u2026and prices are expected to jump by 54 percent. I mean that's several hundred dollars more a year. In my district, the average median income is 51,000 dollars a year. That's real money.\"\n\nImage\n\nWatch the full roundtable, HERE.\n\nDuring the Trump Administration, America was the world leader in oil and gas production, flooding the market with supply and keeping energy prices affordable.\n\nUnfortunately, through policies like the cancellation of Keystone, the ban on new oil and gas leasing on federal lands, and the ban on mining in northern Minnesota, the Biden Administration has eroded American energy production and eliminated American energy independence.\n\nDemocrats are now pushing a reconciliation package that would make this energy crisis permanent. Included in their massive reconciliation package is a moratorium on oil and gas production on federal lands.\n\nTheir plan will:\n\nEnact crushing new costs and fees on domestic producers.\n\nImpose a drilling moratorium on top of existing regulations.\n\nHalt efforts to develop copper and other minerals necessary for renewable energy and battery storage.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T20:24:51Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://stauber.house.gov/media/press-releases/icymi-stauber-joins-leader-mccarthy-congressional-representatives-and-industry"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8849482983350754, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
