By restoring key mineral leases and revoking Biden\u2019s harmful mineral withdrawal in the Superior National Forest, this legislation will create significant revenue for the federal government and economic opportunity for the state of Minnesota \u2013 something my constituents and I are especially enthusiastic about. Last night\u2019s markup was a great first step, and I look forward to delivering these major wins for Northern Minnesota and the entire nation.\u201d\n\nThis legislation generates revenue and implements savings across federal agencies, reducing federal deficit by an estimated $18.5 billion. Provisions include:\n\nReinstating key mineral leases in Northern Minnesota and revoking Biden\u2019s harmful mineral withdrawal in the Superior National Forest, generating $80 million in revenue for the federal government.\n\nReinstating quarterly onshore oil and gas lease sales, generating $12 billion in revenue.\n\nMandating at least 30 lease sales in the Gulf of America over the next 15 years and six in the Cook Inlet off the coast of Alaska, generating billions of dollars in new revenue.\n\nReturning to reasonable oil and natural gas royalty rates.\n\nRequiring geothermal lease sales, generating $23 million in new revenue.\n\nResuming leasing for energy production in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, generating over $1 billion in new revenue and savings.\n\nResuming coal leasing on federal lands.\n\nIncreasing timber sales on federal lands and requiring long-term timber contracts.\n\nRescinding various wasteful slush funds established under the Biden administration in agencies such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.\n\nInvesting in water infrastructure in the West.\n\nProviding funding to celebrate America\u2019s 250th anniversary, including by establishing the National Garden of American Heroes.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T00:49:36Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://stauber.house.gov/media/press-releases/stauber-helps-advance-historic-natural-resources-reconciliation-bill"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.835569903254509, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
