Strong", "S001220", "strong.house.gov", "strong", "https://strong.house.gov/media/press-releases", "scraper", "WASHINGTON \u2014 During the Fiscal Year 2027 Department of Transportation Budget Hearing, Congressman Dale Strong, member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, highlighted North Alabama\u2019s growing infrastructure challenges and the need for sustained federal investment to improve the quality of life for North Alabama\u2019s residents.\n\nDuring the hearing with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Strong emphasized the importance of continued federal investment in transportation infrastructure throughout a rapidly growing North Alabama.\n\n\u201cMy district in North Alabama is home to Redstone Arsenal, where more than 45,000 people commute through the gates every day, making it the single largest employment site in the state of Alabama,\u201d said Congressman Dale Strong.\n\nStrong noted that transportation improvements are critical for both the quality of life and the continued success of North Alabama\u2019s defense and aerospace economy.\n\n\u201cBefore thousands of Redstone civil servants, contractors, and servicemembers can get on base to carry out those critical missions, many face severe traffic congestion and infrastructure constraints surrounding the installation. These transportation bottlenecks do more than create commuter frustrations. They affect operational efficiency and create vulnerabilities around facilities essential to our national security,\u201d said Strong.\n\nAs Huntsville and North Alabama continue to grow, Strong continues to prioritize efforts to secure federal support for transportation and infrastructure improvements to improve daily commutes for families across the Tennessee Valley \u2014 using his position on the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee to advocate for investment that supports North Alabama\u2019s growing workforce, national defense missions, and long-term economic success.\n\nSince coming to Washington, Strong has secured over $29 million in transportation-related Community Project Funding to support growth across AL-05.
