He died at 49 years old on Monday evening, two years afterbeing diagnosed with stomach cancer.He and his wife, Valerie, have a 7-year-old son, Reid.\nMatthad been a reporter and columnist for IndyStar since 2002. The impact he had on our newsroom, and our community, was immeasurable.\nMany Hoosiers took a momentTuesday to remember Matt. Vice President Mike Pence said in a statement: \"Karen and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Indianapolis Star columnist Matt Tully. I always respected Matt's passion for writing, love for Indiana and his commitment to a quality education for every Hoosier child.
