Part of a nationwide effort to reduce wildfire risk, this funding was provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure law \u2013 which Congresswoman Lee voted to pass last Congress \u2013 and will support Nevada wildland firefighters and protect Nevada homes and communities amid longer wildfire seasons.\n\n\u201cIn the wake of the massive York Fire that burned more than 9,000 acres in Clark County alone earlier this year, it\u2019s clear we need significant resources to tackle the thousands of wildfires that occur in our state and throughout the West every year,\u201d said Congresswoman Lee. \u201cI\u2019m proud to have championed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that has already provided hundreds of millions of dollars for wildfire mitigation and post-fire restoration, and I applaud this latest investment to help Nevada firefighters and communities who are on the front lines of this fight.\u201d\n\nThis $11.9 million investment in Nevada from the U.S. Department of the Interior is part of $468 million allocated across the country to reduce wildfire risk, mitigate impacts, and rehabilitate burned areas.
