As the Republican shutdown drags on and the Trump Administration refuses to fully fund SNAP, Congresswoman Lee is supporting emergency food distribution efforts to ensure no one goes hungry.\n\n\u201cThe Trump Administration is letting 495,000 Nevadans go hungry to make a political point. It\u2019s illegal and disgusting,\u201d said Congresswoman Susie Lee. \u201cWhile Republicans in Washington have left working families out to dry, I am here in our community ensuring hardworking southern Nevadans can get the groceries they need to feed their families. The Trump Administration needs to follow the law and feed hungry families before this situation gets worse.\u201d\n\nDue to the Trump Administration\u2019s illegal withholding of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) emergency funds, an estimated 495,000 Nevadans \u2013 half of whom are children \u2014 are at risk of going hungry. As this situation is litigated in court, thousands of families in Nevada are left to figure out how to put food on the table without their benefits.
