Right now, our countryis facing unprecedentedchallenges thatrequiresignificantresourcesto address. I want to make sure those resources are put to good use.That starts with our response to the pandemic.My home state of Nevada has been ravaged byCOVID-19.Getting this pandemic under control and our economy back on track remainsmytop priority.\nNevadansalsoknow all toowell the yearly push in Congress to direct funds towarddumping nuclear waste atYucca Mountain.It won't happenon my watch.I willmake surethatnot a single taxpayer dollar goes towardsthe revivalof Yucca Mountain.\nFederal funds areso importantfor working families. If appointed, I'llprioritizecritical programsthat supporteducation, veterans,nutrition,workforce development, infrastructure, and health care - especially mental health care.I will also ensure thatNevada's public lands are protected.Bottom line,Iwill fight forbudgets thatreflect our values.\nThroughout my first term, I have prioritizedbringingRepublicans and Democratstogetherto get things donefor Nevada families.Ihope I have the chance tobring thatsame approach to the Appropriations Committeein the 117thCongress.\nBACKGROUND: The House Committee on Appropriations is one of the most influential committees in Congress.
